“People start to heal the moment they feel heard”
In 2017, a client gave me this quote after we completed many hard sessions of trauma processing. That statement became the backbone of my therapeutic practice. My approach with clients and their families is guided by unconditional positive regard for all, empathy, and integrating the healing power of humor. Therapy is a safe space and my goal is for you to feel welcomed, held, seen and heard.
My training emphasis for my work with children is in play therapy. Time is never wasted playing–play is a portal. It allows children to break down the barriers and formalities so that we can better work and learn together. I am also experienced using in trauma focused practices with adolescents and adults, often integrating DBT concepts.
I believe that the therapeutic alliance is one of the most beautiful relationships we can know. I am an experienced clinician ready to partner with you, your child or your family as we navigate whatever challenges bring you in the door.
