Online Therapy in South Carolina
When getting to the office is not possible, Jill Smith & Associates offers secure telehealth sessions for clients physically located in South Carolina.
You might relate if
Is this right for you
Online therapy helps when travel, childcare, illness, weather, or schedule conflicts make an in-person session hard—and you still want real continuity of care.
Most sessions at Jill Smith & Associates happen in person at our Columbia, Lexington, and Blythewood offices. Telehealth is the option we use when meeting face-to-face simply is not workable that day or for a stretch of weeks.
Our approach
How this care works
Telehealth sessions use the same clinical care as in-person work, delivered through a secure video platform so you can show up from a private space.
-
In session
We hold online sessions through Doxy, a secure telehealth site.
-
Between sessions
The same between-session work as in person, from a private space with a stable connection.
-
Where you can be seen
Secure video from a private space anywhere in South Carolina.
Self-Pay & Insurance
We are a self-pay practice, so you can choose your therapist without insurance limits on who you see or how long you stay.
FAQs
Common questions about telehealth and online therapy at Jill Smith & Associates.
Can I do online therapy from any state?
No. You must be physically located in South Carolina during the session. Licensing does not allow us to provide telehealth while you are out of state.
What platform do you use for telehealth?
We use Doxy. Find your therapist’s Telehealth link on their bio page and join at your appointment time. Call 803-814-5559 if you have trouble connecting.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
For many clients, yes—especially when the alternative is missing sessions. We still recommend in-person care when it is realistic, and telehealth when it keeps therapy consistent.
Do you still offer in-person sessions?
Yes. Most of our work happens in person at our Columbia, Lexington, and Blythewood offices. Online therapy is available when coming in is not possible.
